Our team is dedicated to empowering youth to inspire community change.

Besides their high academic skills, our staff are recruited based on character and integrity. Basecamp’s staff is fully prepared to help each and every camper make priceless summer memories. We maintain a small student-teacher ratio in order to focus on and build a holistic relationship with each camper.



Alexandra Chen
Graduate Student studying Law

Alexandra Chen graduated from NYU Gallatin in January 2018. She received an individualized major with a concentration in Antiracist Feminist Advocacy. Her work and studies have revolved around education, incarceration, and gender-based issues. Her teaching experience focuses on adult literacy and children with learning disabilities. She is especially influenced by critical pedagogy and critical race theory. She plans to attend law school this August, focusing on human rights and immigration law.


Alice Lee
Student at Baruch College

Alice Lee is a senior at Baruch College majoring in International Marketing and minoring in Law and Policy. She has been involved with on-campus organizations and has held various internships at innovative companies. Alice currently works part-time as a marketing intern at a Japanese technology company focusing on brand development in the U.S. She is interested in global business research and development and hopes to start her own international marketing firm one day. Her hobbies include travel, photography, and anything adventurous that involves the outdoors!


Brandon Tai
Economics Student at Macaulay Honors College at CCNY

Brandon is a senior studying economics at the Macaulay Honors College at City College of New York. He currently works in the Gas Engineering department of Consolidated Edison doing damages and specifications. Brandon has experience working in a tech startup and in consulting. He is a leader in youth ministry at Edge City Church. Brandon enjoys football, basketball, and is a lifelong New York Mets fan.


Cindy Wang
Financial Aid Specialist at Queensborough Community College

Cindy is currently a financial aid specialist at Queensborough Community College. Cindy has 10 years of experience counseling students in Financial Aid. Her expertise focused on Federal Pell grant (FAFSA) and has knowledge on NYS Tap program, Federal work study, Federal student loan and NYS excelsior Scholarship.


Christine Kumar
Registered Nurse

Christine is an ICU Nurse with previous experience in the emergency room, medical surgical and hospice. She is currently in school for her Masters in Family Nurse Practitioner. Her dream is to open a clinic with her husband to help the underserved communities.

Director of Videography at the Bridge Church

Clairmont has been on staff with LIYFC since 2012 and now serves on Youth for Christ USA’s regional leadership team. Along with his ministry at Youth for Christ, Clairmont is on staff at the Bridge church of Malvern as their Family Life Associate and Director of videography.


Gabriella Reyes
Student at Ohio State UnIversity

Gabriella Reyes is a second year attending The Ohio State University pursuing a Bachelors degree in Romance Studies. She has minors in music and education and is very active on her campus. She is a resident advisor this year while also being treasurer of Buckeyes on Tap and Studio Dance. Gabby is also extremely involved with her church campus ministry called TBOC (The Body of Christ). Gabby is very passionate about language learning and is an advocate for diversity wherever she goes and desires to do missions work in the near them future!

Hea Wang
Designer at HGTV/Food Network/Pioneer Magazine

Hea Wang graduated from SVA (School of Visual Arts) in May 2013, with a BFA in Design. she is currently a designer at Hearst magazines specifically for HGTV, Food Network, and Pioneer Women magazine. She has over 5 years of experience in the design world and wants to use her skills to teach others who are passionate for the arts. Hea has also served as a youth leader for over 7 years and has a heart for youth to see them grow into the next generation leaders.


Jason Nieh
Accounting Graduate at Baruch College

Jason Nieh is a senior studying Finance at Baruch college. He has worked part time in a variety of firms from a startup, to an investment bank. He loves basketball, volleyball and is always up for a challenge. Jason was a former President of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter at Baruch college and was a former resident supervisor in the Baruch College dorms. Jason loves explore and learn new cultures. He has travelled to Israel, India, Ghana and Taiwan.


Jennifer Chen
Student at St. John’s University

Jennifer is currently studying at St. John's University for her Doctor of Pharmacy. Jennifer also is a Community Service Chair of Lambda Kappa Sigma, an Orientation Leader of Lambda Kappa Sigma as well as being an Operation Heart Chair of American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists. she has also been Student College of Clinical Pharmacy (SCCP) - President Elect 2018-2019 Student Society of Health System Pharmacists (SSHP) - Secretary 2018-2019. her hobbies include baking, Knitting, Traveling and Trying/Learning New Things.


Joan Nieh
Math Secondary Education Student at
Macaulay Honors Queens College

Joan is currently a junior, majoring in Math Secondary Education & minoring in Business and Liberal Arts, at Macaulay Honors Queens College. She is a resident advisor this year and a youth leader in her local church. She has been serving in youth ministry for over 4 years. With her growing passion for global affairs and education, she dreams of being a founder of an international school serving the underprivileged, especially orphaned and at-risk children. She desires youth to understand their true identity in Christ. Through Basecamp, she wants to champion youth to be positive world changers!


Kymberly Nolden
BA, CPT, NCSF Exercise Specialist

Kymberly Tera is a New York based exercise specialist, entrepreneur and artist. She has built a career out of her passion for movement through dance and training, as well as a deep desire to help people feel better. A published author and creator, Kymberly encourages her clients to learn their bodies in order to build a healthy lifestyle that fits their unique needs and goals. Her mission is to promote body diversity and understanding of how different body types achieve healthy.


Lionel Li
Business Student at University of Michigan

Lionel is currently a second-year student at the University of Michigan business school. Lionel also works part-time as a business development intern for Cheerful Giving, a start-up company that sells micro-recurring fundraising technology. At school, Lionel is involved with Asia Business Conference and Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society, and has a passion for social justice and community action.


Mitchell Lo
Accounting Operations Specialist at a Privately Held Global Media and Financial Technology Firm

Mitchell is an accountant, relationship builder, and outdoor enthusiast. Currently working at a FinTech firm, he has expertise with various ERP systems, involved with scrum projects to improve efficiencies, and creates initiatives on employee engagement. Mitchell has previously worked at an international Christian missional organization, having extensive traveling experience, and a global perspective. He has a heart to help grow and equip those to become leaders in their communities.


Neil Kumar
Medical Student

Neil is a prospective medical student currently attending Hofstra University. He has earned both a bachelor's in Biology and a bachelor's in English from SUNY Binghamton. In his free time, he enjoys reading/listening to audiobooks and practicing Muay Thai


Stephanie Peng
Student at St. John’s University

Graduating with a PharmD in May of 2019, worked at CVS/pharmacy as pharmacy technician and New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens as pharmacy intern. President of the American Pharmacists Association student chapter at St. John’s University.
